International Day of Non-Violence declared by United Nations in honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s Birth Anniversary

Vishwaguruji Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda was invited by the Pujya Mahatma Gandhi Commemoration Committee (PMGBCC) to participate in the commemoration for Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and observance of International Day of Non-Violence.
New York, United States
At the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Mrs. Denis Licul, Secretary General of Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council, attended the commemoration program for International Day of Non-Violence at the United Nations NY, organized by Permanent Mission of India to the UN.
Rijeka, Croatia
Organized by Yoga in Daily Life, and the Indian Embassy in Croatia, the City of Rijeka marked the International Day of Non-Violence with a debate on the theme of peace and non-violence, as well as by planting trees in the center of Rijeka. More than a hundred citizens of Rijeka and guests from all over Croatia and neighboring countries, had the opportunity to participate in an exceptionally vibrant and inspiring discussion.

In many more countries around the world the International Day of Non-Violence was observed on 2nd October in joint commemorations by members of Yoga in Daily Life and Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council.
